Born To Win
Circumstances and pressures encountered in life has caused many believers to lose hope in life and their identity as winners. Some have openly confessed or made negative utterances about themselves, declaring and establishing failure on themselves, only because of their present situation. There are storms in this life but they are temporal and not permanent. In the natural, storms don’t blow forever, they come and then go. The secret is that those whose life are built on the right foundation Jesus the Word, are those who survive the storms of life. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. Matthew 7:24-25.
The epistle of John 5:4 declares For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. The Greek word “nikao” simply means to subdue in other words to conquer, overcome, prevail, or get the victory. Therefore God is telling you that no matter how big or small your problem might be you have conquered it by faith. For your information your victory is not depended on anything but on what God has said, looking beyond the circumstance, that is faith. Faith is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.
So from the above scripture 1John 5:4 we can understand that those who are born again or born of God are by destiny winners and champions. From the Gospel of John our birth is not of the ordinary. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13.
From the Old Testament we understand that God’s Spirit came upon some selected people who had special divine assignment to perform. Some received the empowerment by birth whiles others received when they were anointed with oil by God’s servants. When we look at Sampson in the Book of Judges He was born a champion. His parents were given special instruction what to do and what not to do from pregnancy through the entire life of their child. He was to be a Nazarite. For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. Judges 13:5.
A Naz’arite Is One who was bound by a vow of a peculiar kind, to be set apart from others for the service of God. The obligation was either for life or for a defined time. The vow of a Nazarite involved these three things,
(1.) abstinence from wine and strong drink,
(2.) refraining from cutting the hair off the head during the whole period of the continuance of the vow, and
(3.) the avoidance of contact with the dead.
When the period of the continuance of the vow came to an end, the Nazarite had to present himself at the door of the sanctuary with
(1.) a he lamb of the first year for a burnt-offering,
(2.) a ewe lamb of the first year for a sin-offering, and
(3.) a ram for a peace-offering. After these sacrifices were offered by the priest, the Nazarite cut off his hair at the door and threw it into the fire under the peace-offering.
When Sampson grew up he exhibited great power, a champion and a hero whom his enemies could not stand. We understand from the Word of God that at his death he made a great slaughter than during his life time. And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. Judges 16:30.
All those who are born of God are of the lineage of Jesus who is the Champion of champions. He was a Nazarite as Sampson. We are from His seed which is also the seed of Abraham.
A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this. Ps.22:30-31. The Psamist David prophesied about the generation of champions who will declare the righteousness of God.
In one of His sermons, Jesus declared Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. John 12:24 Jesus gave up His life that we might be come what God intended us to be. You are one of the fruit that was born out of Jesus death. You are made in the image and likeness of Jehovah God so you cannot fail, no you cannot be defeated. You are a candidate of God’s chosen champions and winners by birth. Do not be intimidated by the circumstances surrounding you, or your nationality, colour or age, you are born to win. You must see yourself as God sees you because inside of you every there is reborn and made to win in life. You are what God says you are a champion indeed1 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1John 4:4.
I do not know who is reading and what you are going through but I assure you that you were born to be a winner and not a failure. You were born to reign as a king and not to be a slave. If in any case you have found yourself to be a victim, I assure you that there is a way out. It does not matter whether you are rich or poor, or which ever colour or race or family you may come from. I say there is a way out. And that way is the only way God has provided and it is through His Son Jesus Christ.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Your only access to victory is to believe and accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. You just open your mouth in a simple prayer and ask Him to come into your life. This is the first step. After you have sincerely done that claim His promise and present your deepest request of your heart and He will never fail to do it or disappoint you.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24
